The Big Painting Challenge

The Big Painting Challenge

Portraiture
Season 1  |  Episode 2  |  FOXTEL Arts  |  August 16, 2016

The nine remaining amateur artists face three challenges in portraiture on London's Southbank. For the opening task, they are given four hours to create pictures of themselves from their reflections. This is followed by a quick-draw where they have 30 minutes to attempt an anatomically accurate sketch that captures the likeness of a stranger. In their last chance to impress before the elimination, there's a four-hour sitting with EastEnders actor Rudolph Walker (Patrick) and Albert Square legend Pam St Clement (Pat). Plus, Una Stubbs talks to royal portraitist Nicky Philipps, and Lachlan Goudie provides tips on proportion and scale.
