The Qiantang tidal river wave in China is the world's largest tidal bore. For 2000 years it has been a source of wonder and fear for the riverside residents and the many visitors who attend the yearly Tide Watching Festival in Haining. Some of them take great risks to see the wave, unaware that the bore can be very dangerous and has claimed lives in the past.
