Hidden Treasures of

Indian Art
Episode 3 Arts August 21, 2017

Griff Rhys Jones concludes his quest to discover art produced by indigenous groups in India, travelling to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where he finds that some ancient skills have survived, including the hand-painting of shrine cloths. In the remote area of Kutch, he learns that embroidery techniques are passed down through generations because of the need for dowry gifts, before meeting the Rabari people, a fiercely independent caste, whose members allow him to witness a traditional wedding ceremony.
