In Ireland, Yeats is rightly regarded as the poet laureate of the new nation. In Britain he is regarded as a romantic, Irish dreamer. But the reality of his life and work after Ireland had won independence was a good deal earthier, and a good deal more interesting. This is a documentary by award-winning director Maurice Sweeney which concentrates on the later work of the great poet and the themes that inspired him as an ageing man. In looking at Yeats' later life and work, the film reveals a very different Yeats to the poet we learnt about in school. The film also highlights the apparent mystery that surrounds the whereabouts of his final burial place. Yeats died in France at the start of World War II and his 'remains' were not repatriated for many years. Many historians and critics believe that the body that came home to the strains of The Marseillaise and A Nation Once Again was not that of our beloved poet, but that of an Englishman called Alf. The film examines the facts surrounding Yeats' humble original burial and subsequent much-trumpeted repatriation to Ireland - the final, ironic chapter in a life replete with contradiction and irony. The documentary uncovers not only the brilliant and challenging poetry that never made it into Soundings, but a life - and death - less ordinary. The film contains never before seen footage of Yeats' repatriation to Ireland in 1948, captured by a local film enthusiast and tucked away in the bowels of the Irish Film Archive until now.

In this engaging story from writer-director Scott Cooper, Oscar Winner Jeff Bridges stars as the broken-down, hard-living country music singer Bad Blake who's had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times. However, Bad can't help but reach for salvation with the help of Jean, a journalist who discovers the real man behind the musician. As he struggles down the road of redemption, Bad learns the hard way just how tough life can be on one man's crazy heart. Bad promises nothing to Jean and, as a single mum with plenty of regrets, Jean knows she'd be a fool to believe even in that. Still, they continue winding up in each other's arms. At the age of 57, Bad still lives his life out on the road, playing long-ago hits in third-rate beer joints and bowling alleys to aging crowds as drunk and yearning as he is, while his fleeting fame slides into obscurity. The most he can hope for these days is to open a big concert for his young protege, Tommy Sweet, who learned everything he knows from Bad - except Tommy, unlike Bad, managed to become rich and famous from it.

Recorded live from the Shakespeare Globe Theatre. Peter Simple as Nathan Amzi, Sir Hugh Evans as Gareth Armstrong, Abraham Slender as William Belchambers and directed by Dominic Dromgoole. Imagining that Mistress Ford and Mistress Page have each fallen for him, the fat knight Sir John Falstaff decides to seduce them both, as much for their husbands' money as for their personal charms. Wise to the old rogue's tricks, the women turn the tables on him with a series of humiliating assignations and a very damp, extremely smelly laundry basket. Featuring many characters from Henry IV Parts I and II, Shakespeare's brilliantly constructed farce, which gave birth to a tradition that reaches down to the modern TV sitcom, returns to delight the audience.
