On December 29, 1972, while coming in for a landing at Miami International Airport, pilots onboard Eastern Airlines Flight 401 - a brand new L-1011 plane - put on the auto pilot while they try to figure out why only two of the landing gear lights are coming on. The pilots are so distracted that they don't notice that the plane is slowly falling to the ground, until it's too late. Over 100 people died.
