All new episodes of Great Australian Albums, the documentary series which examines the all-time classic Australian albums. Unlike any Australian music documentary before it, Great Australian Albums dives headfirst into the creative process, to uncover the creative goals set by the artists themselves, and reveals how four different bands went on to create four iconic Australian albums. 16 Lovers Lane is, as violinist Amanda Brown says "an album that encapsulates all the stages of love". The sixth album by the Go-Betweens was recorded in 1988 after the group had spent seven years in Europe.

The final part of the unique music documentary series, Great Australian Albums. Powderfinger released Odyssey Number Five in 2000. The Brisbane group had formed in the late 1980s, on the fringe of the alternative rock scene. Powderfinger took their name from a Neil Young song and they replicated Young's style of classic rock with an edge.

Part three of the unique music documentary series, Great Australian Albums. Hunters & Collectors formed in Melbourne in 1981, in the post-punk Melbourne scene surrounding the Crystal Ballroom. The group was an immediate success and they soon migrated to London. However, the core of the band believed their future was in Australia, and decided to return. A dedication to touring and a desire to explore the ethos of Australian suburbia gave the group a direction that would make them one of the most successful Australian bands of the 1980s.

Nick Cave is Australia's pre-eminent lyricist. The group the Bad Seeds was formed in the early 1980s in Europe around the core team of Cave and his musical director Mick Harvey. The make-up of the group has gradually evolved over time. This evolution of band members has been a constant dynamic in Cave's musical career.

The Saints' single "(I'm) Stranded" burst out of Brisbane, Australia in 1976 as one of the landmark recordings in the punk rock revolution that changed music forever. In the mid-1970s, Queensland was under the thumb of a corrupt, politically repressive government, and the number one enemy of the state was youth.
