A Bengal cat called Tia is rushed to Fitzpatrick Referrals after being hit by a car, leaving her pelvis shattered and her back leg paralysed. Noel must delicately reconstruct Tia's tiny bones using a combination of rods and pins, and hold them in place with an external metal frame to give Tia's leg a chance of mending. Wobble the whippet was rescued by the RSPCA after it is believed she was badly beaten on the back. Her spine is so badly damaged that, if left untreated, she is at risk of permanent paralysis. Sara's chocolate Labrador Alfie wasn't meant to be a care dog. But ever since Sara became ill with Lupus, a disease of the immune system, he has become her lifeline. When Noel diagnoses Alfie with elbow dysplasia, its Sara's turn to return the favour by caring for Alfie, but it won't be a straightforward solution.

An estimated two billion pounds of the annual National Health Service spend goes on treating the worried well. Dr Christian Jessen (star of Embarrassing Bodies) puts three self-confessed hypochondriacs on the front line of the NHS in the hope of curing their health and anxiety, and transforming them into healthcare assets. The rise in 'health anxiety', as it's now medically known, is linked to ease of access to Dr Google, leading people to self-diagnose and demand treatment and scans for an array of ailments they don't actually have. Dr Jessen takes these patients out to meet others who are living with, and being treated for, the illnesses and diseases that they fear most in hopes of stopping self-diagnosis.

Last year, doctors in the UK handed over a billion prescriptions, a 50 percent rise in the last 10 years. Dr Chris van Tulleken knows drugs save lives, but he believes Britain's prescription drug binge is dangerous. To find solutions, he takes over part of a busy GP surgery in East London to try and take patients off their pills and treat them in other ways. His first patient is Wendy, who has been taking pain killers for the last 20 years to deal with chronic pain in her shoulder. Chris is determined to prove to her that drugs don't work, but she'll need a lot of convincing. He devises an experiment - two weeks' worth of medication with a twist: some of the pills are placebos, and some are the real thing, but she doesn't know which is which.
