In 1836, Samuel Colt changes the way that wars are fought with his patent for the revolver, and profits enormously from the invention. But when Colt fires his assistant Rollin White for suggesting an improvement on his design, White brings his innovative idea to Smith and Wesson - giving birth to the first true 'arms' race. As the Civil War breaks out, both the Union and the Confederacy are in dire need of arms, putting Colt and Smith and Wesson in a competition that only one manufacturer can survive. Leader Profile The election is over and Australia now knows who their prime minister is. We'll take a closer look at who they are, what their policies are, and what we might expect from them over the next three years. Bob Hawke Remembered Australians from all sides of politics have paid tribute to the 23rd prime minister, Bob Hawke, who died on Thursday at the age of 89. We look back at the life and leadership of one of Australia's most colourful and celebrated politicians. Digital Footprint Lots of would-be-politicians were given a lesson during the election about checking their digital footprint! Several lost their jobs when controversial posts were made public. Experts say it's a good lesson for all of us to be aware of what we put online and how it might affect us later in life. Wesak Wesak - also known as Vesak, Buddha Jayanti, Buddha Purnima or Buddha Day, is seen by many Buddhists to mark the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha. As part of our series on religious holidays in Australia, we ask a group of Buddhist kids about their religion and what Wesak means to them. Gibb Challenge Kids We meet a group of intrepid young cyclists who are about to take part in the Gibb Challenge. It's a 660km race through the Kimberley which raises money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The Gibb Groms tell us why they're aiming to be the youngest team in the history to complete the Challenge.
