Ben Lee: Catch My Disease examines the life of a unique Australian artist. By 1995 16-year-old Ben Lee had written two solo albums of Dylan-inspired Indie folk pop - all while still in high school. He then left Australia to live in New York with actress girlfriend Claire Danes. In 1999, while promoting his third album 'Breathing Tornados,' Ben said he had made the greatest Australian album ever. As he put it: "People went ballistic - it's embarrassing in Australia if you have ambition. It's seen as being a traitor".

Yet, the bands' choices over how to express their creativity and originality in a profit-driven industry eventually put them at irreconcilable odds.

A behind-the-scenes music documentary that reveals the messy, all-too human face of the low-budget music scene in stark contrast to the perceived glamour of an internationally touring rock band. Raised on a chicken farm in rural Nambour, on Australia's northeast coast, front men Geoff and Ben Corbett sought their artistic beginnings in the 80s, dabbling in punk and performance art. They milked their North Queensland roots relentlessly for its inbred, bigoted imagery, filtered through wicked wit and self-deprecation.
Zach Goldbaum heads to London to meet the rising stars of British hip hop and grime, like Kano, Jammer, Giggs, JME, and Skepta.
Chuck a sanger on the barbie, empty a can of hairspray on your head and dig out those power suits, we're headed back to the golden 1980s of Australian rock and pop to take out AusMusic Month in style.
