One of Britain's most infamous killers, Dennis Nilsen murdered 15 young men, some as young as 14, in London during the late seventies and early eighties. Nilsen held on to the corpses of his victims for weeks on end, keeping them in pristine condition and talking to them on his return home from work and sleeping beside them. His horrific crimes were only revealed when a plumbing company found human remains in his drains. But what led this seemingly normal civil servant to start killing for company? How big a role did his lonely childhood in an isolated Scottish fishing village play? And how devastating was his cold and religious mother's inability to feel any love for him or to acknowledge his homosexuality? Join MacIntyre and distinguished criminologist Dr Elizabeth Yardley as they unpick the psychology of one of the country's most complex killers.

Rupert Kathner (Ben Mendelsohn) always had stars in his eyes. He wanted to make movies and wanted the whole world to see them. In the mid 1930s, his dreams led him to Sydney, the then movie capital of Australia where he met and married the supportive and faithful Clarice, with whom he had a son, Paul. These were desperate times, the economy at an all-time low. Hollywood studio executives controlled the local cinemas with a rod of iron, screening only their own productions. The profits were shipped straight back to Los Angeles. Few Australian filmmakers got a cinema release and Kathner was no exception. It was at a screening of a pilot for one of his films to studio execs that he met a woman who would change his life. Alma Brooks (Victoria Hill) was working as a secretary at the studio when she met Rupe. When they paired up, a revolutionary filmmaking duo was born.

Every year, thousands of people flee their homelands to escape war and persecution. The people who make it to Australia end up in detention centres while their claims for asylum are processed. This can take months, if not years and can lead to a sense of profound uncertainty. The Australian Government eventually sends back asylum seekers it doesn't think are refugees, and who can't prove they have "a well-founded fear" for their safety. International law stipulates that people shouldn't be sent to unsafe locations. A Well-Founded Fear follows the work of a small group of committed Australians who have made it their mission to find the asylum seekers Australia has rejected.
