Paris 1919
Season 1  |  Episode 2  |  SBS  |  April 19, 2010

Looks at how the Treaty of Versailles was created, and how in the end, no-one was satisfied. For six months in 1919 delegates from over 30 nations met in Paris to hammer out a treaty to end World War I. But with each having conflicting reasons to be there - from peace to revenge - the outcome, instead of being a peace treaty "for all time", was an embittered Germany and contentious new entities like Iraq and Yugoslavia.
