American Runestone: A Viking Mystery

Scott Wolter calls Peter and Elroy saying that there is a new scientific test that can be made to verify Olof's innocence but he cannot get access to the runestone core sample due to years of ego and drama surrounding the stone. Peter and Elroy have to help. Later, Peter has to force Elroy to focus as their list of leads grow longer. And finally, the results of the DNA test have come in.

The team soon realise they need to find more metal artefacts to support their case. They get in touch with Bob Voyles, a mysterious man who says he has something very important to show them. They follow him to a hidden spot where he says a medieval treasure is buried. They also learn more about how the Vikings travelled across the world.

They visit Elroy's cousin who is in possession of an ancient skull and they decide to send it in for DNA tests to determine if it could be European. That could be the answer they are looking for. At the same time, they keep looking at the history behind the runestone. They meet Darwin, Olof's grandson, who tells them how difficult it was for the Ohman family to be accused of forgery and how the pressure led two of Olof's children to commit suicide.
