In 1931, Harold Lasseter's body was found after perishing in Central Australia's deserts. His diary tantalisingly revealed he'd discovered a fabulous seven mile seam of gold, worth millions, but would 'give it all for a loaf of bread'. Despite hundreds of expeditions since, the gold has never been found. Obsessed with solving the mystery, filmmaker Luke Walker discovers Lasseter's 85-year-old son Bob, still wandering the desert, on a quixotic mission to find the gold that killed his father and destroyed his childhood. But now, 80 years on, is it still possible to piece together the fragments of history Lasseter left behind?

Molly leads her younger sister and cousin on a brave escape and in a bid to find their way home, following, on foot, the rabbit-proof fence that cuts across the Gibson Desert and towards Jigalong.

Australia, 1830. Edward Waterman (Phillip Hinton) and his family arrive in a remote part of Tasmania (known at the time as Van Diemen's Land). Waterman is pressured into helping British colonial forces carry out the Black Line - enforced removal of Aborigines from land near white settlements. Aboriginal woman Manganinnie survives a Black Line raid which claims the life of her husband, Meenopeekameena. During an innocent family outing in the wilderness, Waterman's young daughter Joanna becomes separated from her family leaving Manganinnie, who has been hiding in the area, to take Joanna into her care. Overcoming her initial mistrust of Manganinnie, Joanna joins her on a long journey in search of Manganinnie's people. Manganinnie is exquisitely photographed by Gary Hansen, capturing the raw beauty of Tasmania's untouched wilderness. Manganinnie explores a dark chapter in Australian history and delivers a richly textured tale of isolation and survival.

Catriona McKenzie's directorial feature debut is a heartfelt, moving and uplifting story about a young boy's journey to save his home and ultimately himself. This film follows Pete, a 12-year-old Aboriginal boy who lives with his elderly grandfather, Old Jagamarra. Home is the abandoned outdoor cinema in the outback town of Wyndham. When it is threatened with demolition, Pete sees his world in jeopardy and sets off for the city. He is joined by his friend Kalmain, who has his own reasons for leaving town. Together the boys travel through epic and stunning Kimberley country and when they get lost in the bush, Pete has to remember some of the old Aboriginal bush skills his grandfather taught him for them to survive. Fable-like in its storytelling, it shows a world torn between old and new, tradition and progress, nature and technology. Celebrating the importance of family, true friendship and cultural and spiritual identity, this film is captivating and affecting.
