Pug makes a kite but he doesn't know how to fly it. He and Dog go to China where they meet two squabbling pandas looking for bamboo shoots. Pug and his kite get blown up in the air and he lands in a bamboo forest.
Dog and Pug are trying to remember what they did yesterday. Their diary tells them that they found Granny Pug's lunch box. They find her on the other side of a ravine, so the neighbouring birds take them across the river.
Dog and Pug go on an adventure and meet Camille the chameleon, who's good at hiding. She is also very shy: when they hold a party no-one sees her. When they find another shy chameleon, Leon, the two dance together.
Pug needs help mending his new see-saw. On their adventure, our friends meet a troll who guards an old bridge so that the goats cannot cross it. Dog persuades the troll to build a new strong bridge.
Pug is being competitive when he cleans the bookshop. He and Dog join a race in Australia. They help brother and sister kangaroos who are very competitive, but get stuck in the mud.
Pug starts asking Dog for the answers to life's big questions. They go on an adventure with Granny Pug who shows them that there are not always simple answers to difficult questions.
Pug tries to remember an old nursery rhyme. He and Dog go to a fair where they meet the cat and the fiddle, the cow that jumps over the moon and the dish that ran away with the spoon.
Dog finds the original book that starts all of his adventures. He shows Pug how he started the bookshop, and how he read all the books so that he could recommend them to each customer.
Dog and Pug go on an adventure underground where they meet Granny Pug. They slide down a tunnel to the centre of the Earth. When they arrive, they find some very friendly dinosaurs.
Pug wants to break a world record. Dog suggests they go to the North Pole so that Pug can be the first pug to reach the Pole. They have some help from a walrus, but when they arrive, Granny Pug has gotten there first.
Pug needs help balancing on his skateboard. He and Dog arrive at the circus and meet the Great Splendina. She believes she cannot swing from the trapeze but she rescues Dog from a fall and helps Pug on the tightrope.
Dog and Pug visit several different stories. Each time they arrive in their new story, they find that they are being chased by various characters. Mrs Honey Bunny comes to their rescue.
Pug wants to get closer to the stars, having looked at the night sky from the roof. On their travels, they meet Granny Pug who takes them on her spaceship. After seeing galaxies and shooting stars, they return to Earth.
Dog and Pug are talking facts and they go to check one of Pug's facts. In the Fact Wherehouse, they meet Wow the owl. They get lost but devise a new way of finding their way out and solving Pug's problem.
Pug needs a story about how to be brave. Dog and Pug meet the Spanish knight Don Quixote and his partner Sancho Panza. Don Quixote defeats the giant windmills so Pug can now confront the hairy spider.
Dog and Pug help Doris the Donkey on her quest to become a unicorn. She has to pass three tests if she wants to succeed. However, Doris figures out that she is much better staying as a donkey and not being a unicorn.
Dog loses his voice and Pug has to read a book. Pug goes on an adventure with the bookshop mice. They enter the body of Dog and find his heart and tummy, although Pug loses the bookshop mice.
Pug wants to write exciting stories and our two friends meet Enid Brighton. She has a very vivid imagination and they go on an adventure to solve all of her mysteries.
