An often polarising figure, Larry Flynt has long struggled to expand the parameters of free speech and expose what he called the hypocrisy of America's elected leaders.
The focus of this film is less on his life and legacy than on his First Amendment court battles over the past 30 years. He's spent more time in court than many lawyers and even spent time in jail for his beliefs.
So when this man talks about the meaning of democracy, many believe he has earned the right to be heard.
