This remarkable documentary focuses on Lisette Nigot. A sane and healthy 79 year old women who decides to take her own life. Lisette sets her date with death before her eightieth birthday.

In an outback shed in Northern Territory, Dr Philip Nitschke builds his prototype death machine, the Co-Gen. The euthanasia campaigner and former physicist is determined to devise a peaceful 'do-it-yourself' way to die. Meanwhile, in Perth, the French born academic does not want to endure "the horrible decrepitation of age". She consults controversial euthanasia crusader, Philip Nitschke.

Thought provoking and certain to generate a hotbed of discussion, Mademoiselle and the Doctor is a powerful and necessary new documentary.
