In the final episode of this fascinating four part series, we meet two couples with very different approaches to Starting Again.
Gary has been on the singles scene for fifteen years. He met recently widowed Denise, at a singles party a year ago. Both with grown-up children, they want to keep the investment in their relationship separate from their family money. Money is very important to both Denise and Gary who are in their late fifties, early sixties. For them keeping financial risks to a minimum seems to be at the cost of increasing emotional intimacy. Denise complains that Gary still speaks as a single man. But there are some surprises in store.
Richard and Cecilia are combining their assets. Just three weeks after meeting through an Internet dating service they decide to sell their homes and buy a house together. Four and a half months after meeting they get engaged and move in together.
While Cecilia is a financial manager, artist Richard often lives in debt. But it is Cecilia who comes unstuck in this transaction. Having given up her job to move in with Richard outside the city she then finds she can't sell her apartment.
